Class Notes 11.1

A pronoun is a word that takes the place of one or more nouns.
Pronouns that are used to refer to people or things are called personal pronouns.
A subject pronoun is a personal pronoun that takes the place of a subject noun.
An object pronoun is a personal pronoun that takes the place of an object of a verb or preposition.

Class Notes 11.2

The noun or group of words that a pronoun refers to is called its antecedent.
The gender of a noun may be masculine (male), feminine (female), or neuter (referring to things).
